Christmas for the Mountains Disaster Relief Effort

We’re on a mission to collect gift cards that can sprinkle joy and support the local economies
in western North Carolina, giving our neighbors and their communities a little festive boost.

Let’s make their Christmas a bit brighter together!

 

Many churches and organizations continue to be overwhelmed with physical donations right now. Local pastors say that gift cards would be easier to use than large deliveries of toys and other items. Gift cards will count as revenue when used locally, which will be very helpful for the local economies that have been devastated along with homes and infrastructure.

We are encouraging mission groups, Sunday School classes or individuals to contribute gift cards to this project.

 

Here’s how it works:

• Purchase gift cards for stores they can use locally in amounts of $25 and $50.
• Suggested Stores:
  • Walmart
  • Dollar General
  • CVS
  • Ingles
  • Food Lion
  • Publix
  • Lowes
  • Home Depot
• Please include the location(s) where you would like the cards to be used. Specify either the name of a church, city/town or wherever needed.
• Also indicate how you want the cards to be used. Examples include for children, senior adults, building supplies, food or anywhere needed.
• Make sure the amount of the card is clearly visible
• Then, send the cards individually or as a group to:

*If you are sending several cards, please take a picture of them and then send them via priority or registered mail so they will be insured. We will ensure they are distributed to churches in WNC to help those in their local communities. Download an informational flyer to share.
