We asked participants in the 2025-2026 Helping Churches Thrive Shared Learning Cohort to share some insights about how the new initiative is helping their church. Read below what participants from First Baptist Church in Morehead City, NC had to say.
Why do you think the Helping Churches Thrive Shared Learning Cohort is right for your church?
Our church is always evolving, from our congregation to our staff. Each year brings new challenges—some we choose, others we do not. The HCT Shared Learning Cohort is the right move to adapt our ministry methods, enabling us to better share the gospel message.
What do you hope will be the outcome of participating in the Helping Churches Thrive Shared Learning Cohort?
We hope to gain a clearer sense of our core identity as a unique body of Christ.
How has the process been fruitful so far? What have you learned?
We have discovered that developing many traits of a thriving church relies on strong relationships and open communication among members. This insight prompted us to purchase name tags for the congregation and guests to wear every Sunday, fostering better fellowship and stronger connections.
