We asked participants in the 2025-2026 Helping Churches Thrive Shared Learning Cohort to share some insights about how the new initiative is helping their church. Read below what participants from Iglesia Cristiana Sin Fronteras in Winston Salem, NC had to say.
Why do you think the Helping Churches Thrive Shared Learning Cohort is right for your church?
We appreciate the CBFNC’s efforts and Andy’s leadership in guiding us through this cohort. I was somewhat skeptical at first because we serve communities, families and individuals with different expectations, intellectual and cultural backgrounds and needs
To my surprise and my delight, it has become an excellent resource, and as we move forward, the vision and scope of what we can develop during and after this cohort are becoming increasingly clear.
What do you hope will be the outcome of participating in the Helping Churches Thrive Shared Learning Cohort?
- To turn the project into a tangible, lasting reality that brings about transformative change.
- For our church to enter into a process of greater participation and collaboration with CBFNC.
- After the pandemic, we never returned to operating the same way; I trust that this cohort will be a turning point for generating growth.
- To encourage our leaders’ participation in upcoming conferences, training, retreats or cohorts.
- Raise awareness within the church regarding generational transition in leadership and the challenges of these times.
How has the process been fruitful so far? What have you learned?
In our culture, it’s very difficult to cultivate and encourage participation in programs conducted in English with people who are practically unfamiliar. Achieving this participation is a real success. I’ve also seen in our group’s comments that they’ve incorporated tools, grown in confidence and are highly motivated about the project and its future impact.
