The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina (CBFNC) is excited to announce that Rev. Amy Lee Gallaher has been hired as the new Programs Support Manager. She currently serves as the Minister of Missional Engagement at Ardmore Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC. She will continue to work in dual ministry roles serving the local church and CBFNC.
In her new role with CBFNC, Amy will focus on strengthening relationships with NC Baptist ministers and churches through planning and coordinating logistics for Annual Gathering in collaboration with staff and volunteer leaders. She will also provide collaborative support to the Helping Churches Thrive initiative, including managing logistics for retreats and workshop events, in addition to assisting in resourcing ministers and churches through the initiative.
“I grew up seeing and experiencing first-hand the beauty of what happens when churches come together to build relationships, learn together and share resources. Working with the CBFNC team has always been a quiet dream as an affirmation of how I grew up, and now, how I can help churches,” said Amy. “CBFNC’s Annual Gathering and Helping Churches Thrive initiative are two ways that uniquely build and shape the kingdom of God in our state and around the world. I am incredibly excited to get to work with the CBFNC family of churches and individuals to create opportunities for fellowship, growth and creative innovation.”
Amy received a Bachelor of Social Work from Campbell University and Master of Divinity from Campbell University Divinity School. She has served in several local churches in different ministry roles as well as working as a chaplain at WakeMed Health and Hospitals in Raleigh. Although she was born in Greensboro, NC she spent most of her childhood in Hungary as the daughter of CBF Field Personnel who served the Roma in Eastern Europe. This unique upbringing provided Amy with the foundation that would lead to her calling to serve local churches.
“I’m excited to welcome Amy to the CBFNC staff team. Her unique set of skills and experiences, along with her love for both CBFNC and the local church, make her extremely well-suited for this role. Amy will add value for our fellowship far beyond the specific responsibilities outlined in her job description,” said Larry Hovis, executive coordinator.
“Amy is one of the most adept and insightful ministers within our fellowship. She has the impeccable ability to balance genuinely caring for others while helping them move forward through challenging situations,” said Andy Hale, associate executive coordinator. “In this ever-changing church and vocational ministry context, she brings vast experience, adaptation, creativity and savvy to our fellowship and staff. She will enhance our already incredibly brilliant staff.”
“We at Ardmore Baptist have been so blessed by the leadership of Amy Gallaher. She has brought vision, direction and structure to our missions ministry. And we celebrate that Amy will continue to lead missions at Ardmore and that she will now be serving CBFNC with her innumerable talents,” said Tyler Tankersley, pastor of Ardmore Baptist, Winston-Salem.
Amy’s husband, Tyler, is a veterinarian working in Kernersville where they have built their home with their son, JT and two pups, Sandy and Lil Bit. She will be based in the CBFNC office in Winston-Salem and begins her new role on August 12, 2024.
