Two weeks ago, CBFNC addressed the uncertainty created through executive orders that affected the federal funding for ministry partners working to resettle refugees in North Carolina. We stated that “we will adapt and pivot” and that “we will continue to partner with refugee resettlement agencies who serve our friends and neighbors already here.”
CBFNC will take direct action on those promises through Welcome Network Grants, giving our three primary refugee resettlement agencies $10,000 each to address funding gaps for the care of refugees already in NC. These grants will go locally to World Relief Triad (Greensboro/Winston-Salem areas), World Relief Durham (Durham/Chapel Hill areas) and USCRI (Raleigh/Greenville/Fayetteville). The CBFNC Welcome Houses that provide temporary housing for refugees upon arrival in NC work closely with these partners.
While we do not know what will happen with refugee resettlement in the coming months or years under the current administration, we are certain that our ministry partners will continue to need help. We know that our CBFNC churches that have Welcome Houses will “adapt and pivot” to welcome and embrace vulnerable neighbors.
Please help us continue this work by giving to CBFNC for the Welcome Network grants. Through the grants, we empower churches and partners to embody one CBFNC’s core priorities: embracing neighbors through missions. Give here and select “Welcome Network” in the drop down menu on the online giving form.
