Born in Ecuador; Graduated with a Master and Doctorate in Theology, with 47 years of pastoral experience in Venezuela, Ecuador, and USA. He is currently the Pastor of the Iglesia Bautista Internacional en Greenville, North Carolina. He is the author of several books in the biblical field, the last being “Interlineal Académico del Nuevo Testamento Griego-español” [Academic Interlinear of the Greek-Spanish New Testament]. Former Rector of the Seminario Bautista del Ecuador. Professor of several Seminaries/Universities in Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, and USA. Member of the translation teams of the Nueva Version Internacional, Biblia Textual, and Reina Valera Actualizada 2015. Editor of academic books at Casa Bautista de Publicaciones. Married to Maria Luisa. Children: Juan Carlos Jr. and Courtney, Esteban and Danielle. Five grandchildren.
