For over 20 years, Rev. Dr. K. Jason Coker has been a dynamic leader in the religious and nonprofit sector. Best known as an engaging speaker, thought leader and social entrepreneur, Dr. Coker has committed the best part of his professional life to alleviating persistent rural poverty in America. He serves as the president of Together for Hope (hope.cbf.net), a rural development coalition headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi. He holds a Master of Arts in Religion from Yale University Divinity School and a PhD from Drew University Theological School. Dr. Coker’s passion for fighting poverty comes from growing up in the grinding poverty of the Mississippi Delta."
Through the years, his most cherished accomplishments have come from volunteer work in children's ministry. He has devoted his time and energy to the spiritual development of children for over 22 years. Along the way, he faithfully served as children's ministry leader, children's ministry director and Royal Ambassadors director and currently serves on the North Carolina Training Advisory Council. His love of children inspired the formation of A Model Ministry, an organization that specializes in safety education and risk assessment to mitigate child sexual abuse in ministry programs.
