Fort Caswell
The annual CBFNC Fall Youth Beach Retreat returns to Fort Caswell in Oak Island the weekend of October 25-27, 2024. All CBFNC partner churches are invited to bring your youth (grades 6-12) for a weekend filled with worship, Bible study, dance party and lots of free time to play on the beach!
This year’s theme is “Hold On” using Hebrews 10:19-25 as our guiding verse for the weekend to help young people HOLD ON to their identity in Christ, for God who has promised is faithful. The retreat will encourage students to explore what it means to HOLD ON to God, to oneself and to others, and as we claim these things we become more fully the body of Christ in the world.

Helping Churches Thrive Creative Workshop Retreat
November 14-15 | Catholic Conference Center, Hickory
Church in today’s world is complex and challenging.
But what if churches could embrace their potential to THRIVE instead of accepting the pressure to simply survive?
CBFNC’s Helping Churches Thrive (HCT) program is cultivating opportunities to foster congregational vitality through a series of Creative Workshops Retreats. The interactive retreats are designed to engage congregational leaders and clergy from across our fellowship as they explore new, practical and innovative ways to flourish in ministry.
This is not another program that will leave you with lingering questions. It is a shared learning experience with other CBFNC churches that will empower you to identify, celebrate and grow the characteristics of thriving congregations for your church, all under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Click here to learn more about the characteristics of a Thriving Congregation.
The design of the 24-hour retreat will quickly bring into focus the urgency and profound opportunity of today’s church context. The retreat kicks off at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, and wraps up by 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15.
The cost is $50 for double occupancy rooms and $100 for single occupancy rooms, with dinner, breakfast, and lunch provided. The retreat will be held at the Catholic Conference Center in Hickory, NC.
Space is limited to 40 participants.
Helping Churches Thrive is funded by a grant from Lily Endowment, Inc’s Thriving Congregations Initiative.
