Welcome Ride 2025 Has Concluded.

CBF of North Carolina’s Welcome Ride Raises Awareness and Funds for the Welcome Network.

For six days (October 5-11, 2025), CBFNC Executive Coordinator Larry Hovis and his team cycled over 396 miles across the state as part of the  2025 Cycle North Carolina Mountains to Coast bike ride. The purpose of Welcome Ride is to raise awareness and money for CBFNC’s Welcome Network. Welcome Network is a collaborative ministry that provides a tangible expression of every disciple’s call to love the stranger and to invite them into God’s beloved community as neighbor (Matt.25: 35-36). The Welcome Network empowers, connects and inspires local congregations to engage in ministries of welcome in their communities. The money raised during Welcome Ride will be used by CBFNC to grow our ability to support and empower congregations across our state to engage in ministries of welcome in their communities.

Congratulations and THANK YOU to “Team Hovis!”

Welcome Network is About More Than Housing

The CBFNC Welcome House Community Network is about more than providing housing. It’s about prioritizing relational ministry that invites people to face challenges together, to work in ways that allow neighbors to form lasting relationships and to provide support to vulnerable neighbors that does not dismiss material needs but moves beyond them. One of the ways the network supports new neighbors is through English as a Second Language classes (ESL).

Church Hopes to Welcome Neighbors Through Affordable Housing

As Welcome Ride 2023 concludes, the hope and vision for expanding the Welcome House Community Network (WHCN) grows. The funds raised during the Welcome Ride campaign will be used by CBFNC to grow our ability to support and empower congregations across our state to engage in ministries of welcome in their communities. Gifts to the campaign will enable CBFNC to help churches like First Baptist Church, Mount Olive that has a bold vision to convert abandoned homes near the church into affordable housing. The task is large but the impact it would make is greater.
