Larry McGlothlin
Workshop Leader
Larry grew up in Southwest Virginia in the small town of Bluefield, just across the border of southern West Virginia. It was here, in this idyllic setting, where the spiritual influence of family and loving Sunday School teachers took hold. He went on to graduate from Bluefield State College in 1984 and upon graduation relocated to North Carolina. There he completed a prolific 30-year career as a transportation engineer before retiring in 2017.
Through the years, his most cherished accomplishments have come from volunteer work in children’s ministry. He has devoted his time and energy to the spiritual development of children for over 22 years. Along the way, he faithfully served as children’s ministry leader, children’s ministry director and Royal Ambassadors director and currently serves on the North Carolina Training Advisory Council. His love of children inspired the formation of A Model Ministry, an organization that specializes in safety education and risk assessment to mitigate child sexual abuse in ministry programs.
