Pilgrimage to Iona
October 18-24, 2025
Led by David and Joani Hughes
CBFNC’s Helping Pastors Thrive ministry is delighted to present an extraordinary opportunity for a small number of clergy to embark on a spiritual pilgrimage to the sacred Isle of Iona, situated off the western coast of Scotland. Pilgrimage holds profound spiritual significance, and Iona presents an ideal setting for this contemplative practice.
This journey spans seven days and nights, allowing clergy to immerse themselves in the holiness of the “Cradle of Christianity” in the United Kingdom. Each day will be filled with meaningful worship, moments of solitude, and an exploration of the dynamic faith of the Christian Celts. Iona, a small island off the coast of Scotland, holds immense significance as a Christian pilgrimage site, particularly due to its association with St. Columba and its pivotal role in the spread of Christianity throughout Scotland. Renowned for its profound spiritual and historical importance, Iona beckons visitors yearning for a profound connection with their faith and the natural world.
Housing, meals and program fees while at Iona are underwritten by Helping Pastors Thrive, while air and land transportation, an overnight stay in Glasgow, meals in transit to Iona, and incidentals will be the responsibility of each participant. More details concerning actual costs for the journey will be forthcoming. Helping Pastors Thrive will attempt to coordinate travel to and from Glasgow. Participation is limited to a small number of clergy.
